Yin to Yoga Nidra
Friday November 10th 6-7:30pm
“On the other side of activity is stillness. On the other side of control is surrender. On the other side of agitation is peace. Yin Yoga is the “other side” of more commonly practiced active (Yang) styles of yoga. Working on the “Yin-side” produces a wonderful feeling of contented quietude and calm vitality in body and mind.” - Josh Summers
Yoga Nidra is a form of guided meditation that draws our attention inwards, where our body finds its natural state of equilibrium – the breath balances and becomes quiet, unconscious and conscious aspects of the mind reveal themselves, and we fall into an innate state of deep, blissful awareness. As we rest, we start to experience the ‘deeper’ features of yogic teachings, such as feeling our interconnected wholeness and becoming aware of our true, unified nature – expansive, inclusive, and deeply restful. The combination of Yin into Yoga Nidra takes us effortlessly into a state of harmonious, restful being. From here, we can be healed, restored and awakened to our deepest, all-knowing, all-welcoming self.
